Although fire trucks today are diverse, they all serve to the same purpose: combat fires and keep people safe. There are many fire truck models available on the market and the differences between them exist mainly to correspond to the fire department’s needs and requirements. The fire truck production in Turkey is diverse and in lines with the highest quality standards and safety regulations. Here the most common models.
Pumper Fire Apparatus
This is the most common traditional and simple fire truck available in every fire department. It is used to combat structural fires and it is composed of a pumper, a water tank, and a hose body. As long as the machine obeys the rules set by NFPA, there is some freedom in regards to how the truck is designed.
Quint Fire Apparatus
This apparatus performs five different jobs: a fire pump, a tank of water, a hose body, ground, and aerial ladder. This fire truck model is most common in small fire departments since it covers a wider range of functionality at a lower price and it can be manipulated by a small group of firefighters.
Foam and Water Tenders
These apparatuses are mobile water supplies and have a very simple and basic design since their purpose is to carry water. They are not required to own a pump as their main purpose is to transport water or foam. However, fire truck manufacturers must produce them carefully, as they can be dangerous at times as there is a risk of rolling over someone.
Aerial Fire Apparatus
This is one of the most expensive models and it offers some additional facilities compared to the other apparatus. Firetruck producers equip this apparatus with an aerial ladder, elevating platform and a water tower to reach the giant flames or fires at high building levels.
